Kaya are recruiting talented and motivated interns to join us in Cape Town and apply your knowledge to an environmental conservation project, run locally in Cape Town, South Africa.


Spend from 4-12 weeks as a Graphic Design or PR and Social Media intern for a growing NGO focused on the rejuvenation and protection of Cape Town natural environment.


The award-winning project is dedicated to urban greening, reforestation, and eco-education. Through tree planting, it aims to uplift communities, fight deforestation, spread environmental awareness, and inspire a green movement by involving communities in the area.


The organisation is always looking for new promotional materials and methods for their online media and as an intern you will have a fantastic opportunity to see you work go from conception to design and delivery.


As a PR and social media intern you will learn about or be involved in some of the following:


• Gain valuable work experience in online marketing, from working on the social media strategy, improving the content of social media sites and keeping them updated


• Learn about and help develop strategies for social media sites


• Research and approach media channels to promote the NGO and its values


• Improve your writing skills by writing blogs and social media posts


• Participate in some of the urban greening and reforestation projects


• Developing educational materials about greening and reforestation


You will be located in the stunning Cape Town, on the tip of South Africa. It has so much to offer in terms of adventure and social life, ranging from skydiving to beaches and museums. For thrill seekers why not join a cage diving with sharks experience, or go on a safari and find some of Africa's Big 5. More laid back activities include wine tasting, sunbathing on the beach and heading to the Cape of Good Hope and its beautiful nature reserve.


Interns will share a room with up to 6 people in a guest house, with bathroom, lounge and washing facilities. Breakfast is given all week, and lunch on weekdays. Scheduled airport pick-up an drop-off is from Cape Town International Airport. Staff are available both pre-departure and in-country for support and to answer any questions or concerns.


You can spend from 4-12 weeks interning on this project. Internships are self-funded, but in your project price your accommodation, most meals, airport transfer, training and support are all included.
