As an IT Services Apprentice, you’ll work with some of the best IT specialists around, and get involved in an amazing range of cutting-edge hardware and software products.
About the programme
Our 18 month IT Services apprenticeship is designed to give you the very best start to your career. Your time will be split between college and on-the-job training at HMGCC. That way, you’ll develop a solid foundation of practical skills and technical knowledge. In fact, the whole apprenticeship is based on blended learning through classroom training, various mentored work placements and customer projects. And, to really top it off, we’ll fund your membership with a professional organisation such as the British Computer Society.
If you successfully complete your training, you’ll achieve a Level 3 Infrastructure Technician Apprenticeship. You’ll then be offered a career at HMGCC as an IT Technician within the corporate ICT Team. This could see you move into areas such as Desktop Services, Applications, Infrastructure or Products. No matter what team you find yourself in, we’ll continue to invest in the development of your skills and knowledge. In fact, if you have the potential and motivation, you’ll find boundless opportunities to progress.
You’ll come to us with 4 GCSEs or equivalent at Grade A* to C or 9-4, which includes English, maths and a technology or IT subject, or an equivalent qualification and experience. Alternatively, you’ll hold a relevant Level 2 Apprenticeship. In addition, you’ll have bags of curiosity and be professional, honest and reliable. You’ll also be a resourceful thinker; excited about technology and eager to work with others to achieve your goals. Importantly, you’ll want to have a positive impact on the world, adding value to our organisation by delivering the best possible service – even when you’re faced with a challenge.
