Bookkeeper & Administrator Apprentice

Salary: £170/week + travel costs

POSITION OVERVIEW:


This made-to-order furniture workshop in the city is offering the opportunity to a young person to manage the bookkeeping and administration in assistance to the Sales person. This small and locally-providing company holds strong business and production morals and needs someone who is eager to learn exceptional organisational skills and gain invaluable business knowledge whilst offering the opportunity to learn bookkeeping and accounting skills. Candidate must have a taste for order and a will to help in improving and developing the constantly evolving company.


MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


• Opening mail and sorting invoices, keeping records and archives in order


• Recording sales


• Taking meeting minutes


• Bookkeeping - recording suppliers invoices and sales in Quickbooks, reconciliation, preparing VAT report, helping with cost accounting & quarterly management costs.


• Preparing payments to suppliers & helping sales person with general administrative tasks.

REQUIRED:


• Excellent written and verbal communication skills


• Skills in problem solving, organisation and planning


• IT Literate; proficient with Microsoft office applications proficiency, especially Word & Excel


• 5 GCSE's at grade A* to C


• Ability to prioritise


DESIRED:


• Experience working in an office/ business environment


• Someone who has a passion or at least an interest in the industry


• A Levels / AS Levels
