Training & Profiles
Last year, 100% of apprentices were given full time, permanent roles after their apprenticeship.
Together with gaining Ofsted recognised qualifications you will obtain industry leading skills and the experience you’ll need for your career.
You’ll spend time experiencing different areas of the business that are relevant to your role, setting you up for a long term career with us. And we mean long term.
Along with your work activities you can get to know your fellow apprentices, and your own strengths, at outward bound team building weeks. You’ll have the opportunity to take part in team challenges for National Apprentice Week and get involved with the North West apprentice network.
At the end of your apprenticeship you can become a United Utilities ambassador and inspire other young people to come and work with us.

Q: Will I have an induction into United Utilities?
A: All of our apprentices will attend a residential induction when they start with United Utilities. This gives you chance to meet other new apprentices, your new mentor and manager and get to know our business.
Q: Can my family enquire about my application on my behalf?
A: Due to the Data Protection Act we can’t discuss you application with anyone except yourself. If anyone contacts us on your behalf wanting an update on your application they will not be given any information.
Q: What will I study and where will that studying take place?
A: If as part of your apprenticeship you are required to attend a training provider, college or university where you'll work towards relevant standards/qualifications relating to your role. You will start your course in January 2021 and details of your course content will be provided when you are offered an apprenticeship.
Each scheme is different, to find out more about the standards/qualifications you will be working towards, check out the advert for the role you are interested in.
At what age can I apply for a UU apprenticeship?
United Utilities accept applications from all ages.
When will I start work if I'm successful?
United Utilities apprentice training has been pushed back to January 2021 due to Covid-19. The training will start with an apprentice induction for all our new starters.
Can I apply for more than one UU apprenticeship?
You can apply for as many roles as they like. However if you get through to the next stage, we will ask for your preferred role as you can only complete the online test and video interview once.
