Job Description

Adanac Valve Specialities Ltd is an engineering workshop producing industrial pipeline valves. They are looking for a welding apprentice to join their team to learn and carry out welding tasks along with other general engineering tasks.

Responsibilities

What will the apprentice be doing?

Main duties will include:

· Tig Welding

· Mig Welding

· Metal fabrication

· Other General Engineering Tasks

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

  • The learner will be studying the Level 2 General Welder Apprenticeship standard qualification.
  • Day release to West Suffolk College.
  • Functional skills will be studied if equivalent qualifications are not held.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

It is expected that apprentices may progress to a full-time permanent position in the company with the opportunity to progress into other roles and responsibilities.

Reality Check

The apprentice will learn to weld metals using TIG and MIG processes. They will also learn to use metal fabrication tools such as rolls, press and folder.
