Job Description

Carrying out reactive and routine maintenance on water process equipment, working on water supply and treatment, water networks and leakage, sewerage and wastewater.

Responsibilities

What will the apprentice be doing?

Our Assistant Water Network Technicians perform vital problem solving to ensure we find consumption and detect leaks ensuring the network runs efficiently and safely.

Leakage Detection: You’ll get to grips with core theory and principles of identifying non-visible underground leaks.

Network Data:You’ll find out about the data used to understand water leakage.

Operating the Water Network: You’ll learn how to safely operate the water network, ensuring that water is always on.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

As an apprentice focussing on leakage, you’ll develop knowledge of working safely in a variety of locations and environments, some of which may be remote locations this includes applying procedures and control measures to the network to minimise the risk of interruption of supplies to customers.

The qualification achieved at the end of the apprenticeship is an NVQ3 in relevant specialism, and a BTEC, along with apprenticeship standard.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

At the end of your training, as long as you pass your end point assessment and have met your performance targets throughout your Apprenticeship, you will be offered an opportunity in a permanent role with us.

Reality Check

We aim to train our Water Process Technician Apprentices on sites in locations local to them, however this is not always possible, so if you are flexible on site location do let us know in your application.
