What will the apprentice be doing?
Our Supply and trading training programme is an alternative to university. It will give you the skills and experiences you need to succeed in a business role, the option to study for a Level 4 apprenticeship and the development to help you become a high performing, valued member of the team.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
This is your chance to gain experience across our Supply and trading division on a structured, two year programme, with the opportunity to then convert onto our 3-year trading & shipping development programme. Together with the opportunity to gain a qualification, you can look forward to exciting, long-term career options with a future-thinking world leader.
You’ll be placed in four different front office roles and be an active member of your team. Senior team members will act as line managers and coaches, and you’ll enjoy full on-the-job training.
You will be involved in a wide range of commercial activity in our oil and gas trading sector. That could see you analyzing market data, working with the shipping team and supporting commercial trading as part of a financial team.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
We’ll give you a mentor to support and advise you on what you want to do in future. We’ll also work with you to help you define a career path that could take you into commercial operations, trading, or other parts of the business.
At the end of the programme, we’ll support you in getting a permanent role as trader or in a commercial team.
Reality CheckWe believe in hiring people with the right core competencies and interest, rather than specific technical experience. While the apprenticeship qualification is an option on this programme, it is not a requirement. We welcome applicants from a range of academic subject backgrounds.
