The chosen candidate will study towards a Extended Diploma Level 3 in Technical Support.


Duties will include:

  • To work alongside the Sales and Technical team to provide technical support and expertise to internal and external customers
  • To undertake project work under the guidance of the Technical Manager to develop a range of skills including discussing/consulting with relevant people, finding solutions to problems, identifying areas for improving processes practices in the technical support area, collating feedback from customers, preparing a plan of action for implementation, communicating the proposed solution and ensuring all information is documented for an audit trail
  • Develop a comprehensive knowledge with the support of the Technical Manager of the Lincoln Electric product range and key technical features
  • To professionally and competently support the Welding Demonstrators to demonstrate the Lincoln Electric product range presenting the key features and benefits which represent the most appropriate customers option
  • To keep up to date on technical developments in the industry
  • To work with the technical team on performing competitive product comparisons, which will include feature, consumable, and weld performance evaluations
  • Develop personal skills and knowledge in line with industry developments and trends with the support of the Technical Manager
  • To attend sales meetings, business development meetings and customer engagement activities
  • To work with the Sales and Technical team to recommend improvements/new ways of working which impact cost/increase efficiency as part of the Lean Programme, including completing audits and recommending appropriate actions in addition to showing an engagement in lean initiatives
  • To become proficient in the application of all welding processes including MMA, TIG, MIG and SAW

Qualifications Required

The chosen candidate must have 5 GCSE's or equivalent at Grade C or above, or grade 4-9 under the new education grade system effective from 2016/2017.  Must include maths and English.

Training Provided

  • Producing engineering drawings to design specifications using relevant software package
  • Working to BS/EN standards
  • Ensure you adhere to Health & Safety policies and procedures
  • Working to given time scales
  • Work alongside design engineers to provide you with the knowledge needed to become fully trained
  • You will also be expected to respond quickly to changing demands throughout your working day
