Job Description

KTS Computers is looking for someone with genuine enthusiasm and energy for all things IT related to provide 1st line support to our maintenance and ad hoc customers.

Responsibilities

What will the apprentice be doing?

In this role you’ll provide dedicated technical support to maintenance and ad hoc customers as directed by your mentor.

Main duties to include:

  • Visiting customers to provide support, including installing and maintaining IT equipment
  • Hardware repairs of PCs, laptops & Macs
  • Providing tech support via phone & use of remote-control software
  • Management of email services on mobile devices & tablets

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Over 18 months, you’ll devote 20% of your 40 hours of working time towards a Level 3 Information communication Technician apprenticeship. You’ll be trained by an expert tutor from Tiro as well as an experienced mentor at KTS Computers, who together, will make sure you develop the knowledge, skills, and work habits you’ll need to succeed in your career.

You’ll be earning a salary while you gain your qualifications, meaning no huge student loans to pay back at the end of the programme!

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

There is the potential to progress to 2nd line support technician and beyond, for someone with the right aptitude and brain for IT. Training will be provided as required, including CompTIA A+ if deemed applicable. As we are a small company, we are not restricted to having a certain number of pay grades. Hard work and achievement will be rewarded.
