What will the apprentice be doing?

  • The primary role of a Teaching Assistant is to work under the professional guidance of the Class Teacher to undertake learning activities with groups of pupils, in or outside the classroom.
  • A Teaching Assistant will support the Class Teacher in the management of pupils and the classroom.
  • You will have a variety of roles & responsibilities as detailed in the job description available from our website www.leoacademytrust.co.uk.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

  • You will be undertaking a Teaching Assistant L3 course
  • We have vacancies across the Trust - our schools are located across Sutton & Epsom
  • You will undertake 20% study time through a variety of media

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

There are several routes you may choose to take after successfully completing your course such as Cover Supervisor, Senior Teaching Assistant and Higher Level Teaching Assistant; alternatively you may wish to gain experience in the school environment and consolidate your learning, taking advantage of all our CPD opportunities.
