Responsibilities
What will the apprentice be doing?
-Help pupils follow teacher instructions and support them during learning activities.
-Assist pupils to develop their independence.
-The preparation of materials/equipment.
-Support the development of literacy and numeracy skills of all pupils
-Assist pupils using a variety of classroom materials/equipment.
-Assist with special activities in the school within school hours.
-Assist with the supervision of pupils at meal times and other out of lesson activities.
-Support the use of ICT as a tool to enable learning
-Use a range of total communication strategies to facilitate learning, to
include Signalong.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
-L3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship
-The majority of the training will be school based, with occasional on site attendance required at Chelmsford College.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
Permanent employee as a Teaching Assistant (not guaranteed).
