Job Description

The role of teaching assistant is to work under the direct instruction of teaching/senior staff to support access to learning for pupils and provide general support to the teacher in the management of pupils in the classroom.


What will the apprentice be doing?

Supervise and support the learning activities and outcomes for all pupils, under the direction of teacher. Support pupils to become confident and independent learners. Promote self-esteem and excellent behaviour from all pupils. Prepare resources and the classroom environment as directed. Assist with the supervision of pupils out of lesson times. Provide clerical/admin support, e.g. photcopying and filing

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Become a teaching assistant at the end of the course which can lead on to becoming a HLTA.
