What will the apprentice be doing?
Shine Learning & Training Centre is a registered not-for-profit Community Interest Company which aims to make a difference to the life outcomes of students who find mainstream education challenging. They offer a good quality alternative education, that provides a home from home approach but focuses on mentoring and prevention work whilst also ensuring students’ academic needs are met and celebrated. This is also a term time only position, perfect for those candidates that have children! Part of your role will be to to support and assist students and teachers in the classroom. You will be providing support for individual students inside and outside the classroom to enable them to interact with others and engage in activities led by the teacher. You will also be promoting promote self-esteem, independence and enabling students to feel secure and happy.What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
You will gain the following qualifications: • Level 3 Teaching Assistant • Functional Skills in English and maths (if required) During this apprenticeship you will study a range of topics, including: • Understanding how pupils learn, working with teachers, • Working with teachers to understand and support assessment for learning, • Developing strategies for support • Communication and team work • Use of technology • Adding value to education • Promoting Equality and Diversity and inclusion.What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
