What will the apprentice be doing?
The primary role of the Teaching Assistant is to support the class teacher to enhance pupils’ learning either in groups or individually, ensuring pupils understand the work set, know their learning objectives and stay on task in order to make progress. Promoting self-belief, social inclusion and a high self-esteem play an integral part to pupils’ well-being; ensuring pupils thrive in a positive, nurturing, safe environment. It is an active role supporting the learner to access the curriculum.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
The Apprentice will work towards a Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship Standard this will include 20% off job training and is included in working hours. Applicants may also need to work towards Functional Skills English and Maths.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
As part of the Endless Possibilities programme you will be given information, advice and guidance on our progression pathways. This is a fixed term contract but we have a high retention rate for our Apprentices who usually progress into full time employment or the next level of the Apprenticeship.
