Job Description

This exciting role is one of trust and responsibility, requiring the successful candidate to be hardworking, practical and able to use their own initiative. You will be working closely with a highly experienced team to help achieve the very best outcomes for our children as well as developing your own knowledge and understanding.


What will the apprentice be doing?

  • This is a vacancy for a teaching assistant to work in class,  teaching assistants and class teachers, helping children to learn, achieve and aspire.
  • Working closely with a range of children everyday will be different, but you can be certain that they are never dull.
  • The teacher plans lessons and directs learning.  
  • Teaching Assistants provide support to the teacher and work under the direction of the teacher, whether with the whole class, a small group, or individual pupil.  

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Teaching Assistant Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard, 

Level 3 Diploma – Supporting Teaching and Learning

End-Point Assessment (EPA)

Functional Skills if required

First aid 

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

As well as ensuring full competency as a Teaching Assistant, this standard provides a foundation for potential progression into a number of career paths in the Educational sector including Higher Level Teaching Assistant, Assistant Teacher and Teacher.
