Job Description

The role is for a candidate studying towards a level 4 AAT apprenticeship and will have worked for an accountancy practice for a number of years. A fantastic opportunity for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

The role is for a candidate studying towards a level 4 AAT will have worked for an accountancy practice for at least 3/4 years and have experience in:

  • Preparing accounts for limited companies and unincorporated businesses to trial balance/review stage
  • Maintaining client’s records using a variety of software packages (excel, Sage, MoneySoft, Xero)
  • Ability to work in a team, supporting junior members
  • Creation of best practices and training folders
  • Reviewing and preparing VAT returns for electronic submission to HMRC
  • Payroll processing

The new role will inclue the following activities.

  • Statutory accounts to FRS 102a and 105 – preparation
  • Support and manage the team regarding VAT
  • Preparation of year-end accounts for limited companies, sole traders, and partnerships
  • Assisting in the preparation of management accounts
  • Support the team in processing payroll, furlough and pensions, ensure best practices and records are kept up to date and in order 
  • Liaison with the HMRC
  • Produce year end accounts in VT, tax filer and verify via using Xero
  • Produce CT600
  • Help in preparation of Personal and Corporate Tax returns

Future Prospects

A permanent opportunity would be available for a successful apprentice. There is the opportunity to progress onto ACCA Level 7.

Reality Check

  • During your apprenticeship you will be required to complete a workplace portfolio, participate in the classroom training and complete any employer training, all of which will count towards your 20% off the job training
  • We will assess your prior learning using your CV, an In-Depth interview and the completion of a skill scan and will adjust the apprenticeship accordingly. This will ensure you are learning new knowledge, skills and behaviours

Qualifications Required

  • A minimum of 3 GCSE's at Grade C/4, including C/4 in maths and English (or the equivalent) is required for this programme
