Job Description

The role will support all aspects of Planning & Logistics function, including Scheduling, Planning, Stores. This opportunity allows the successful individual the opportunity to work within different areas of the Planning and Logistics function to develop an in depth knowledge of practical Planning and Logistics processes.

Responsibilities

During your apprenticeship, you will typically:

  • Support the planning at each level of the business (i.e. Resource Controllers, Production Controllers, Schedulers, Strategic Planning, Stores Managers)
  • Undertake secondments in Stores & Logistics, Operational Planning, Scheduling, and Strategic Planning activity
  • Support functional management in the development of processes within the functional area
  • Develop an understanding of the different techniques required to support different planning arenas (Operational, Strategic)
  • Develop an understanding of Supply Chain Logistics theory and techniques and apply as relevant to business requirements
  • Plan and design methods to improve efficiency and product quality by utilising Continuous Improvement (CI) tools and working as a member of a cross functional team
  • Undertake Planning activity in defined area to support business planning requirements in a timely, professional manner. Amending forecasts against actual performance, to ensure accurate information is available for business decision making
  • Support Planning & Logistics functional team to develop robust improvements to the Planning Spine

  • Qualification, medical and security checks.

The Apprentice recruitment window opened on the 1 November 2020 and remains open until 28 February 2021.

Depending on fulfilment of the requirements, the process can take until July/August to complete and final offers are made.
