Job Description

Do you want to gain technical skills alongside academic studies? Are you looking for a career path with continuous training and development? Our Leadership, Education and Development (LEAD) Supervisor higher apprenticeship programme is designed to develop future supervisors in a practical environment.

What will the apprentice be doing?

You will have responsibilities from early on in your career and will learn something new every day. As a trusted member of the team you will support managers to run the site effectively, whilst developing skills in a varied environment of a quarry or asphalt plant, alongside a team of motivated people who will support you. You will gain experience in all activities from drilling and blasting and driving mobile plant to ensuring the site is compliant with critical health and safety procedures.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

During the three year programme you will gain experience and relevant qualifications in operational aspects of our business alongside distance learning delivered by The University of Derby. You will be supported by a mentor as well as your line manager and receive first class training internally. You will  'earn while you learn' by completing a foundation degree in mineral products technology while working on site in your day to day role.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

From year four onwards you could progress to a supervisory role whilst studying towards a full honours degree in mineral extractives over an additional two year period. We can offer you clear career pathways, with access to multiple opportunities across our business, so if this sounds like the right opportunity for you then please apply online now
