Job Description

Sport2day offers fantastic opportunities for enthusiastic, talented people to build a career and deliver to schools and local communities. Successful candidates will deliver sport and physical activities to children through to adults, both in school curriculum time and extracurricular activities.


  • Plan, evaluate and delivery of our coaching program in schools in accordance with the sessions plans
  • To identify and meet the needs of the participants
  • To maintain discipline and safety during sessions
  • To complete the appropriate evaluation and feedback forms including attendance registers and assessment sheets
  • Attend and complete coaching courses
  • Assist with the co-ordination of children’s holiday activities

Future Prospects

We have an intensive training program to ensure that our staff are qualified to the highest possible standard. Those who show motivation and the desired skills will be offered permanent positions with Sport2day.

Reality Check

Travelling between different school locations will be required as part of this role. These schools will be in the South Lincolnshire/North Cambridgeshire area. The ideal candidate would either have access to own transport or be willing to use public transport to access various schools. There may be some opportunity to share transport depending on candidate location. You must be happy working in a busy, customer facing environment. Uniform will be provided and must be worn at all times. The successful candidate must be willing to work some evenings and weekends. The post holder will require an Enhanced Disclosure from the DBS. Wage is National Minimum Wage or dependant on experience.

  • Self-motivated and have a passion for teaching/coaching
  • Ability to deal with a range of different situations
  • Articulate themselves in a professional well-presented and professional manner at all times
  • No criminal convictions or cautions that would prevent you working with children

Qualifications Required

  • 5 GCSE’s, or equivalents, to include maths & English Grade C-A*/Level 4-9
  • Previous experience and/or qualification in coaching DBS check will also be required
  • Full driving license would be desirable but not essential

Level 4 Apprenticeship Standard - Sports Coach:

  • Level 4 Sports Coach - Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours
  • Edexcel Level 2 Functional Skills English (exemptions apply)
  • Edexcel Level 2 Functional Skills Mathematics (exemptions apply)

The successful candidate will also need to complete a diagnostic assessment, which will help us plan the appropriate support required to meet your individual needs.
