We are looking for people who are talented programmers with predicted grades A* - B at maths A-Levels to take on a Software Engineer Degree Apprenticeship at 360 Systems, Ellesmere Port, Cheshire.


Web App Developer:

Applicants know they want a career as a Web App Developer. They want to do a Computer Science Degree that allows them to apply their learning in real commercial software development projects. If you have already built web apps or a website outside of the classroom, a BSc Digital & Technology Degree Apprenticeship should be a serious option for you.

Putting the academic theory, you learn in lectures and tutorials into practice at 360 Systems allows you to advance rapidly at University and enhance your career prospects significantly over traditional Computer Science Graduates.

Software Engineer Apprenticeship.

This is a rewarding career path for people who relish the challenge of a learning and working environment. As a Degree Apprentice, you will follow the same track as our Graduate intake.

We start you off with HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript for front end development and then C# for the back-end server-side code. This is the start of our fast track programme to turning you into a commercial web developer using JavaScript Frameworks, Microsoft .NET and the Azure Cloud platform.

As well as training and masterclasses, you work with experienced Full Stack Developers supporting the systems we write, taking an active part in projects and rapidly improving your software development skills.

Future Prospects

As well as writing code, you will gain experience in delivering projects using the latest DevOps methods. You will be involved in requirements gathering with business people through to prototyping, coding, delivery and support. Your analytical approach to problem-solving, strong maths and passion for software development make you an asset to the team.

In return, you will work on a range of interesting projects building websites, mobile applications and web portal systems for our clients in the UK and Europe.

Following completion of the Degree Apprenticeship, you will be a fully-fledged Software Engineer with 4 years of commercial experience building bespoke web systems and should be looking at undertaking a Lead Developer Role.

Qualities Required

People with good maths and technical ability, and who have written a website, app or completed a codecademy or Udemy Software Developer course are very much encouraged to apply.

The Apprenticeship combines workplace training with a programme focused on IT in business and includes a blend of technology, commercial and project skills. The core units include:

  • Introduction to Programming
  • Introduction to Business Systems
  • Introduction to Web Development
  • Computing Fundamentals
  • Technology Management
  • Portfolio

Pathway units and negotiated business projects allow you to study a specialist route in Business Technology (IT Consultant), Software Engineering, Data Analytics or Cyber Security.

You can also choose an elective unit, which may include: User Experience Design, Digital & Social Media, CRM, Mobile Applications Development, Enterprise Computing and Advanced Web Development.

As well as the academic content, the Apprenticeship includes sessions on communication, presentation and team working skills, to help you become a confident digital and technology practitioner.
