What will the apprentice be doing?

As a Software Development Apprentice, you will be:

  • Working with our business consultants to bid for new business
  • Providing office support and assisting with project management
  • Developing digital solutions using automation tooling and Agile methodology
  • Executing tests and identifying/classifying faults
  • Assessing applications and producing migration design documents
  • Working with other parts of our Atos business, clients and 3rd parties

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

The apprenticeship will blend on the job experience, face to face workshops and online learning, leading to the following qualifications:

  • Software Development Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship
  • BCS Systems Development Essentials (England only)
  • BCS Level 3 Certificate in Software Development Context and Methodologies
  • BCS Level 3 Certificate in Programming

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

We offer apprentices a permanent contract from day one. 

We hire apprentices at post GSCE / A-Level – but if you do well on your apprenticeship and want to carry on learning, the business will support you to transfer onto the next level of apprenticeship – up to Level 6 – a degree level apprenticeship. So you can get your degree, whilst working, and no student debt!
