What will the apprentice be doing?

A typical Software Developer apprentice will build and test simple, high quality coding. On this programme, you would learn skills including testing code and analysing results, problem solving and designing simple data models.

Key responsibilities will include the following: Writing code in at least one language. Developing user interfaces for at least one channel Linking code to the database/data sets Applying structured techniques to problem solving Creating simple data models and software design.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

As an apprentice, you’ll receive on-the-job training and experience in an administrative position along with formal training to gain the knowledge and skills you’ll need to support our business operations. You’ll join a team with a dedicated line manager committed to enhancing your career experiences. You will receive the Level 4 Software Developer qualification upon completion of this programme.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Good changes of progression to Higher/Degree Apprenticeships as well as temporary/permanent employment.
