Timber Focus Ltd are now looking for somebody to join their ever-growing team as a Sales Apprentice. If you feel like you work well under pressure, have good communication skills and most importantly want to progress in a sales role then this is the perfect role for you!

Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Assist with online, telephone and face to face sales
  • Assist with general admin for the business
  • Complete any necessary clerical duties e.g. packaging samples for postage & responding to emails as required
  • Ensure that files are maintained in an orderly fashion & kept up to date
  • Take part in meetings and take minutes of meetings & provide a written record
  • Answer the telephone & direct enquiries appropriately
  • Visit clients, with the managing director, as required
  • Assist with sales from storage and maintain as required
  • Assist with the correct receipt and storage of samples or goods delivered to the office, or storage
  • Travel to storage to collect or store samples
  • Routine handle & move heavy items
  • Work within your expected limitations at all times

General Duties Include:

  • Contribute to own personal development plans. Attendance on appropriate training courses
  • Partake in bank holidays/ stock-take work
  • Take care of your own safety and that of others who may be affected by your actions or omissions
  • Ensure that you comply with all Health & Safety regulations

This job description reflects the present requirements of the post, it will be reviewed and revised, with the agreement of the post-holder, annually and when duties and responsibilities change. Such review will normally take place at the annual joint review meeting.

Future Prospects

  • Potential for progression, and further contract, dependant on completion of Level 2 certificate

Reality Check

  • A driving licence is desirable but not essential

Skills Required

Essential:

  • Experience of dealing with people
  • Must have good numerical and literacy skills
  • Must be computer literate
  • Must have good communication skills
  • Must have sound common sense & be adaptable in all situations. Must be prepared to lift and handle heavy goods, complying with Health & Safety
  • Must be able to work on own initiative
  • Must be able to work with all members of staff

Desirable:

  • Experience of working in a team
  • Experience of working with customers
  • Experience of dealing with enquiries over the telephone
  • Be familiar with all ‘Office’ applications, spreadsheets, database etc.
  • Be able to work under pressure
  • Be able to work as part of a team

Qualities Required

  • Must have good personal hygiene
  • Must behave in a professional manner at all times
  • Must be prepared to accept supervision and work to department procedures
  • Must be flexible and adaptable
  • Must be prepared to work in any area of the business as needed
  • Must have a desire to develop within the business

Qualifications Required

  • GCSE in Business studies, or equivalent
