What will the apprentice be doing?
The RF, Networks, and Secure Communications discipline provide engineering and systems administration support to enable the conduct of Test, Evaluation and Training missions for the UK MoD and our allies. Our work includes working with Royal Navy submarines and surface ships, Royal Air Force fighter planes and helicopters as well as futuristic weapons and armour for the Army. We protect data through state of the art encryption and even built the ion thrusters for the Bepi-Columbo mission to Mercury! There is never a boring day at QinetiQ!

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
Our Farnborough teams are a small team of electronic and electrical engineers / technicians engaged on diagnostic and maintenance activities on a broad range of industrial electrical plant equipment and control systems including power electronics and PLC systems. They are involved in the Wind Tunnel facility used primarily by major International aircraft manufacturing companies for testing scale models of commercial aircraft
