Job Description

What will the apprentice be doing?

  • Take full ownership and responsibility for the output on the brand website
  • Source, edit, curate, upload and commission news and digital articles in line with brand KPIs
  • Source relevant images and quotes for the news stories and articles
  • Assist the Editor in the development of the weekly newsletter
  • Develop relationships with key industry influencers
  • Keep abreast of market knowledge and competitor activity
  • Identify and attend relevant industry events/exhibitions and industry meetings
  • Assist in editing annual issues of the brand(s) magazine
  • Assist in the development of digital content
  • Conduct any other duties which may reasonably be required

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

To meet the requirements of the Level 3 Publishing Assistant apprenticeship programme you will need to spend 6 hours a week of your time undertaking off-the-job learning, which will include:

  • Formal training, including online learning and internal learning events
  • 1-2-1s with your coach and line manager
  • Observing and shadowing colleagues
  • Writing up learning reflections for your portfolio

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Full-time employment within the Russel Publishing Team.
