Responsibilities
What will the apprentice be doing?
You will be carrying out maintenance activities on communication systems throughout the rail infrastructure.
This will include:
- Installing and commissioning on-site equipment
- Repairing and restoring equipment across the London Underground Network
- Testing and commissioning a vast array of products across multiple technologies and manufacturers
- Unloading, checking, handling, storing and preparing equipment
- Working in a multitude of environments from labs to workshops to stations to trackside
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
- We want to give you a wide range of knowledge, so we will give you exposure to a variety of different projects.
- You'll learn the requirements of our different customers and contracts and how to fulfil those needs
You'll also obtain a Level 3 diploma and certificate in Rail Engineering and functional skills in Mathematics and English at a Level 2 (unless you already have this).
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
We recruit our apprentices on a permanent basis from day one, so once your apprenticeship comes to an end we will look to put your newfound skills to use and you will naturally become a trainee project engineer.
