Job Description

Production in the creative industries is the process of taking a creative vision and organising spaces, people and resources to present that creative idea to the public as a product that they can watch, attend or participate in. Examples include festivals, theatre performances, music gigs, exhibitions, conferences, processions and much more


The Trust seeks to appoint two Production Apprentices to assist the Production team’s work in taking a project or event from concept to delivery. You will be part of a team that helps bring the creative vision of Coventry City of Culture 2021 to life, delivering a variety of events across the city

  • Work closely with the Trust’s Head of Production, Production Coordinators and Production Managers
  • Support with research for projects, including helping to search for sites and venues, attending site visits and keeping information about these spaces organised
  • Learn about the process of taking a project or event safely and successfully from concept to delivery, supporting our Event Management Systems
  • Work regularly on email, with Excel spreadsheets and our online systems
  • Support the Production Coordinator to ensure equipment inventory and booking system is well organised and used efficiently
  • Regular equipment checks, assessing condition and storage
  • Support with set up and delivery of small-scale public engagement activity, including manual handling and helping to set up small PA systems
  • Be part of delivering large scale, city-wide events, particularly from 2021 onwards, supporting our Production Managers
  • Attending meetings and taking minutes and actions, supported by colleagues
  • Connect with our Producing teams and learn about how they are working with creative organisations, artists and communities
  • To ensure that the health and wellbeing of colleagues, partners and participants are always a key consideration of your work
  • To work flexibly as a member of the Coventry 2021 team and contribute to delivering other elements of the wider team’s work programme as required
  • Actively engage with the organisation’s vision and policies regarding equal opportunities and diversity, artistic ambition, participation and engagement, health and safety, monitoring and evaluation
  • To be aware of, and undertake to comply with the Trust’s GDPR, Health and Safety and Diversity and Equality Policies

  • Willing to work evenings, early morning and/or weekends as required to meet deadlines and/or attend events

Qualifications Required

A grade 4 or equivalent in maths and English GCSE
