Are you seeking a Level 3 / Level 4 Apprenticeship? Have you considered a career in Procurement and Buying? Siemens Healthineers is looking for a full-time Procurement Apprentice to join our Strategic Procurement team.

The Strategic Procurement team is responsible for a growing volume of spend across a diverse portfolio of goods and services, from innovative project business to real estate projects with a global supply base. This is an exciting time to start a career with us in Strategic Procurement, as we embark on a journey of digital transformation. We are seeking a self-starter with a keenness to influence and challenge the status quo by providing actionable insights for improvement.  

This flexible Apprenticeship role is based on a four-year programme and will provide you with valuable work experience whilst gaining professional qualifications - starting as a Level 3 Apprentice and moving on to complete a Level 4 qualification by the end of the scheme.

You will be supported, coached and mentored by an experienced team of Procurement Professionals and gain exposure cross functionally at a country, regional and global level within a fast-paced organisation.  You will report to the Head of Strategic Procurement GB&I.

In your time as a Procurement Apprentice, you can expect to tackle the following:

  • Supplier Management
  • Procurement Governance
  • Market Analysis & Early Involvement
  • Bid Preparation
  • Digitalisation Projects

To apply for this procurement apprenticeship, you will need 5 GCSEs, grade 4/C or above (or equivalent), including English and maths. Maths, English, Economics and Business Studies subject experience are desirable.

In addition, you will need the following:

  • A passion for digitalisation and learning new tools, e.g., Qlik View, KNIME, Power BI and Power Automate
  • High levels of attention to detail and proficient in the use of MS Office applications.
  • A customer centric focus, with excellent communication and change management skills
  • The ability to problem solve both collaboratively and independently to come up with innovative solutions
  • The ability to set priorities, with a focus on impact and outcome.

Future Prospects

By the end of the four years and with a CIPS Level 4 Diploma qualification in Procurement and Supply, you could be looking at moving into roles such as:

Procurement and Supply Assistant, Junior / Assistant Buyer, Inventory Controller, Category buyer, Sourcing Executive, Procurement, Operations Support, Buyer, Commercial Relationship Support, Commissioning and Performance, Monitoring Officer, Framework Management Support, Contract Associate, or Contract Support.

Some people go on to Study a Level 5 CIPS qualification to further their strategic knowledge and understanding.
