Job Description

As a Procurement Apprentice, your role will be focussed on securing the right items for the business, at the right price, at the right time. You’ll perform a variety of purchasing activities including processing purchasing orders, managing supplier delivery schedules among many other responsibilities.


What will the apprentice be doing?

  • Reviewing internal order request messages
  • Managing supplier delivery schedule – identifying and resolving issues up until shipment
  • Liaising with the finance team to issue purchase orders
  • Negotiating price and delivery time scales that meet your business need
  • Implementing strategic supplier segmentation project
  • Working on internal procurement projects with a view to continuous business development, including standardized packaging and work apparel

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

  • Qualification in Level 4 Diploma in Procurement & Supply with the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply 
  • The Apprenticeship training will consist of a blended mix of tutor led classroom/virtual classroom time, one to one tutor time and self-directed study with coursebooks and e-learning.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

After successful completion of your apprenticeship, Meggitt will review further employment opportunities and potential for higher education training available to you – dependant on your performance.
