Job Description

To provide a high standard of physical, emotional, social and intellectual care. To support the Preschool in implementing a quality EYFS curriculum ensuring stimulating and varied play and learning for all children

Responsibilities

What will the apprentice be doing?

Your duties will include the following: 

  • Set up the preschool and prepare any activities that need specific
    resources.
  • Prepare snack and clean relevant areas.
  • Support the children in fulfilling their needs and following routines.
  • Changing nappies
  • To partake in Forest school activities.
  • To plan and implement activities for the children
  • To clean resources and restock
  • To be a key worker for a group of children
  • To report back to parents both verbally and in written form
  • To take observations using tapestry.
  • To tidy away resources at the end of the session
  • To take carpet time and supervise lunch.
  • To know, understand and adhere to polices and procedures
  • To follow safeguarding procedures
  • To work alongside other members of the team.
  • To attend training sessions and staff meetings outside of the usual work hours.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

  • Level 3 Early Years Educator Apprenticeship Standard
  • Level 3 Paediatric first aid
  • To be completed at apprentices work place

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

  • To become a qualified Level 3 practitioner
  • To take a lead in an area
  • To eventually progress to managing
