We require someone who is able to work as a team and support our settings aims in making sure children are able to explore in a safe and happy environment.


We require someone who is able to work as a team and support our settings aims in making sure children are able to explore in a safe and happy environment. This will include being involved with both parents and children on a day to day basis and making sure hygiene and safety are maintained as set out in our policies. You will need good people skills and be able to use your own initiative in some cases, being able to work under direction, maintaining confidentiality at all times.

Training will be given to be able to provide care for children from 2½ months to 4 years old, to assist in many aspects of their daily lives through social, emotional, educational, and practical interaction, enabling them to explore and develop their self-esteem to prepare them for their transition to school.

Main duties:

  • Setting up and tidying up each day
  • Make sure items are clean and safe
  • Being involved in the flexible daily routines
  • Educating children through play
  • Care for children’s needs
  • Provide a safe and stimulating environment
  • Liaising with parents, carers and other staff
  • Uphold good standards of hygiene and cleanliness in the preschool
  • Attend training sessions
  • Undertake other duties as required within the nursery

Training Provided

  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant Standard
  • Functional Skills in maths and English if required

On the job training with the employer whilst working towards the Apprenticeship Standard.

Regular work based assessments/observations carried out by Kent Training & Apprenticeships Tutor Assessor, to determine competency and meet with Awarding Body standards.
