Job Description

Ever wanted to get into the Poultry industry? If so this is an exciting opportunity to join one of the country’s largest Poultry producers Hook2Sisters as a Poultry Production Apprentice.

Responsibilities

What will the apprentice be doing?

As a Poultry Production Apprentice you will support the day to day duties on a modern Poultry site for the production of breeding and rearing chickens. You will work alongside the farm manager to develop the range of skills and knowledge to ensure the smooth running of the farm. Daily duties will include; Bird Welfare and Biosecurity, Health & Safety, feeding, watering and record keeping to name a few.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

You will be enrolled onto the Agriculture L2 NVQ to gain relevant real world experiences with a mix of academic work and hands-on learning. Your chance to achieve a nationally recognised qualification.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

On successful completion of your apprenticeship there is the potential to gain further qualifications with the Company in a full time position. Hook2Sisters Ltd takes pride in investing in young talent and existing staff to enable career progression.

Reality Check

This role is physical, however, practical skills are also required along with an awareness of Health and Safety. You need to be a good time keeper who is reliable and be able to work on your own initiative and as part of a team. It also helps to understand the needs of the business which may mean at times being flexible on hours.
