Job Description

An exciting opportunity for a recent graduate looking to get into the development management and enforcement field through training within the RTPI apprenticeship scheme.


What will the apprentice be doing?

Working across the diverse county of Cambridgeshire, you will join a friendly and busy team which is expanding and rising to the challenge of delivering an ambitious and wide ranging growth agenda.  The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking monitoring visits to mineral and waste development sites across the County and conducting investigations into breaches of planning control so you will need good communication, organisational and time management skills, as well as an eye for detail. Alongside this, you will also deal with planning applications made by the County Council for its own development, working in a team that deals with a rapidly growing area where major new development is planned, including new settlements, in this capacity you may also be dealing with planning applications for new infrastructure (such as new schools) and for mineral and waste management development (training will be given).



What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

You should have a planning or related degree, or equivalent experience, and be prepared to start on the journey to acquire your Masters in Town Planning with Anglia Ruskin University

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

With the successful completion of apprenticeship and relevant experience, there would be an opportunity to progress through this career grade post and then into a more senior position in development management.
