Competition Supplies is a small yet very busy specialist supplier of motorsport components based at Silverstone Circuit. For the right person, there is the opportunity to secure full-time employment and progress to higher level qualifications.


The role will involve learning and assisting in all aspects of the business including but not limited to the following:

Goods In:

  • Checking off deliveries
  • Entering the deliveries into the stock control system
  • Putting away deliveries


  • Processing online orders received via our website and third party sales platforms such as eBay
  • Responding to requests for quotations
  • Handling enquiries by telephone, advising on and processing the resulting orders
  • Handling enquiries at the sales counter


  • Labelling and packaging goods for resale
  • Assembling products in the customers requested configuration
  • Servicing components

Goods Out:

  • Picking orders ready for despatch
  • Packing orders
  • Shipping orders

Systems & Marketing:

  • Adding and updating content on the website
  • Measuring, collating and updating product specifications on the website
  • Merchandising the showroom area
  • Assisting with catalogue production

The position is full time and would suit an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual who is eager to learn and offers the opportunity for career and salary progression commensurate with the development of the required skill set.

The successful candidate will probably have an interest in motorsport and vehicle mechanics and be able to show some practical experience in these areas.

  • Full training will be given in this challenging and varied role to ensure that the apprentice has the skills and expertise be considered as a permanent member of staff

Qualifications Required

  • GCSE maths and English at grade 4 (C) or above desirable but not essential

Training Provided

Trade Supplier Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard:

  • This apprenticeship is delivered through work-based learning, this means that all training is done at the workplace eliminating the need to attend college
  • The successful candidate will be allocated an assessor who will visit on site every 4-6 weeks and deliver all of the training to gain the qualification and provide the resources to complete work between visits
