Job Description

We are looking for someone to join our team as a Paralegal Apprentice to upskill and ultimately work within our Crown Court department, working with clients, solicitors and barristers preparing cases for Crown Court trial. Wide range of opportunity for specialisation for the right candidate.


What will the apprentice be doing?

To represent and advance our client case to achieve the best possible result within the frame work of the criminal justice system.

Main duties:

  • Typing
  • Administration
  • Responding to enquiries
  • Assisting fee earners
  • Case management
  • Instructing expert witnesses
  • Taking client instructions
  • Briefing Barristers
  • File management
  • Legal Research
  • Preparing and organising case papers
  • Handling confidential and sensitive information
  • Liaising with professional bodies and partners (Courts, police barristers and solicitors)

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Paralegal Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard:

  • Functional Skills Maths level 2
  • Functional Skills English level 2

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

  • The ideal candidate on complettion of the apprenticeship will sit without a Crown Court Deprtament and ultimately under supervision will be able to manage their own case load and clients
  • Further opportunity for advancement including; Specialisation, Police Station Accrediatation, Magostrates Court representation (SQE)
