Responsibilities
What will the apprentice be doing?
Main Responsibilities:
- Taking notes on meeting and telephone calls
- Take and make telephone calls to clients and third parties
- Using and updating LEAP case management system
- Client onboarding
- Drafing correspondence and documents
- Assist colleagues with fee earning work
- Scanning and filing documents
- Make basic applications (e.g. to HM Land Registry or the Court)
- Using a variety of software packages, such as Microsoft Office and LEAP case management system, to produce correspondence and documents and maintain records and databases
- Supporting fee earners with the administration of their files
- Ensure all files are regularly maintained and are in accordance with our office procedures
- Scanning documents to various computerised systems
- Filing legal, administrative and financial documents in date order
- Photocopying and printing various documents on behalf of colleagues
- Sorting and distributing incoming post, and organising/sending outgoing post
- Maintaining stationery and equipment
- Liaising with staff in other departments and with external contacts
- Using content management systems to maintain internal databases
- Devising and maintaining office systems
- Proofreading documents
- Taking enquiries over the phone and other reception duties

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
Paralegal Level 3 apprenticeship standard:
- Functional Skills Maths level 2
- Functional Skills English level 2
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
Upon successful completion of this apprenticeship, there would be the opportunity to discuss the possibility of a permanent role within the firm, if appropriate for both apprentice and employer. There is also potential for further training and progession for the right candidate to a full fee earning role.
