Job Description

Excellent career entry role into the legal services industry with this Paralegal apprenticeship - assisting our house legal team, comprising of highly experienced lawyers, to provide a first-class service to our clients.


Reporting to the Legal Collections Supervisor.

Duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Make and receive collection telephone calls
  • Gather and record information by asking appropriate questions
  • Negotiate commitments to resolve overdue accounts Monitor arrangements and commitments to ensure timely resolution
  • Manage a diary system to take appropriate follow up action
  • Review pre-legal debts to assess suitability for legal action Initiate county court legal actions for debt recovery and progress to judgment and enforcement
  • Advise clients on prospects for successful recovery and assist with overcoming disputes and reasons for non-payment
  • Work with courts, enforcement agencies and other suppliers to ensure high standards of service are maintained at all times
  • Such other duties as may be required

Qualifications Required

5 GCSEs at grades C/4 or above (or equivalent) in maths and English Language.

Training Provided

Level 3 Paralegal apprenticeship standard, which includes:

  • Level 3 Professional Diploma in Law and Practice
  • Level 2 Functional Skills in maths and English (if required)
  • End-Point Assessment (EPA)

Delivered in your workplace with one to one training and tutor visits every 4 weeks, plus one day or evening a week attendance at College over 35 weeks each year - subject to Covid-19 restrictions.

Portfolio and scenario assessment at the end of the programme, plus examinations. Those who enrol will become professional members of CILEx.
