Responsibilities
Our apprentice will be a key member of the early years’ team and will be responsible for delivering high quality care and learning opportunities for children based on their needs and interests.
Duties & responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the children’s development through learning, play & outdoor activities
- Promoting positive relationships with children, parents and colleagues
- Contribute to the effectiveness of team work
- Ensuring the health, safety and well-being of the children at all times & take responsibility alongside the Nursery Management Team for the safety, security and well-being of children, staff and visitors
- Promote positive relationships within the early years’ setting & support the team in building relationships with a small group of children and their families according to the EYFS
- To be a good role model and be able to showcase high quality practice with regards to individual and group work with children
- To support the management team in assisting the nursery to reach an ‘Outstanding’ grade with Ofsted
- To embrace, understand and promote the nursery and to understand the role you play as part of the team to provide high levels of care and education
- To ensure that safeguarding procedures are followed in line with Local Authority and company procedures
Future Prospects
On completion of the apprenticeship program, depending on performance and availability, you may be offered a full time role at the Nursery.
Reality Check

Skills Required
- Some childcare knowledge would be advantageous
- Good communication skills
- Able to work as part of a team
Qualities Required
- Must be presentable
- Passionate about working with children
- Willing & happy to learn and progress with qualifications
Qualifications Required
- Previous childcare experience is preferable but not essential
- Ideally GCSE English & maths at grade C or above (or equivalent)
Training Provided
Early Years Practitioner Level 2 or Early Years Educator Level 3
