Job Description

We are looking to an employ an apprentice who will become a proactive member of our existing team. You will learn how to provide a safe and stimulating environment in which all children are encouraged to reach their full potential.


As a Nursery Apprentice. your key responsibilities will include:

  • You must provide high standards of quality within the nursery including the environment, resources and experiences offered to children
  • Input towards planning for the EYFS curriculum and maintain accurate and effective children's records
  • Promote and facilitate partnership with parents/carers and other family members
  • Ensure children are kept safe and that staff understand, and when necessary follow, Child protection and Safeguarding Procedures
  • Undertake a shared responsibility for health, safety and cleanliness of the children at all times
  • Be fully aware of all emergency and security procedures e.g. fire precautions, security, dropping off and collection of children
  • Support and supervise room staff with their day to day duties
  • Work with other staff to implement the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum to ensure a consistent approach
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures

Future Prospects

Upon completion of the 15-month apprenticeship program, depending on performance, you may be offered a full-time role at the Nursery and a chance to train to a higher-level.

Skills Required

  • Some childcare experience is desirable however not essential
  • Must be confident when working with children
  • Be able to use own initiative when working with children

Qualifications Required

GCSEs at grades C/4 or above (or equivalent) in maths and English.

Training Provided

Level 2 Early Years Practitioner apprenticeship standard, which includes:

  • Level 1/2 Functional Skills in maths and English (if required)
  • End-Point Assessment (EPA)
