Job Description

We are a passionate hard-working team, looking for an enthusiastic pre-school apprentice who loves working with children and has a good work ethic to join our friendly motivated preschool.


What will the apprentice be doing?

  • Supervise and provide support and guidance for children
  • Working with individuals or small groups of children under the direction of supervisors
  • Establish and maintain a positive relationship with children
  • Model play, reading stories & singing
  • Follow instructions from supervisors
  • Supporting the team
  • Take part in training and continue to update skills and understand why it’s important
  • Take part in regular supervisions with manager, and become reflective in practice.
  • Follow rota
  • Follow and understand policies and procedures
  • Be interested, and build conversations with children
  • Be aware of safety and risks
  • Keep the preschool tidy
  • Can handle being outside in different weather conditions


  • Early Year Educator Level 3
  • English and maths Functional Skills (If Required)

Course Duration:

  • 18 months

Working Week:

  • 32.5 hours per week
  • Monday - Friday
  • 8.30am - 3.30pm
  • 30min lunch break
  • 20% time for studying
  • Team time only
  • They have 2 sessions per day with the lunch break in between and each shift is 3 hours


  • 16-18yrs - £4.81 - £580 PM
  • 18+ £6.83 - £820 PM

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

  • Potential offer of a permanent position for the right candidate. • Will become a permanent member of the team if passing the training as well as meeting preschool’s standard

Reality Check

• Can be overwhelming of working with 2-5 year olds if one doesn’t have any experience of with working with such age group. • DBS check will be required prior enrolment. • Manager will be the first person to contact about performance.
