An excellent opportunity to undertake an engineering apprenticeship as a Mould Shop Apprentice.


Duties/responsibilities to include:

  • Work within the Mould Shop Engineering team
  • Gain experience of using workshop equipment
  • Gain experience of working on Mould Repair and Maintenance
  • In particular, focusing on: maintaining tooling to a high standard/specification within machine shop operating Manual Turners, Miller and CNC machines as required and Abide by Company and departmental rules
  • Work to departmental procedures and follow job safety instructions
  • Wear PPE as instructed and relevant to job specific hazards
  • Maintain good working relationships with colleagues and management
  • Essential to attend College to complete Modern Apprenticeship qualification in Engineering (including NVQ’s)
  • Undertake other internal or external job specific training
  • Any other reasonable duties as requested within skill set

Qualifications Required

  • The chosen candidate must have 5 GCSE's or equivalent at Grade C or above, or grade 4-9 under the new education grade system effective from 2016/2017.  Must include Math's and English.

Training Provided

  • Level 2 NVQ in Performing Engineering Operations
  • Functional Skills (where applicable)
  • Level 3 NVQ Extended Diploma in Engineering
  • Level 3 BTEC Diploma in Engineering, City & Guilds 2850 or VRQ
  • Level 3 Diploma in Engineering Technology (day release)
