Job Description

IMKA in Kettering are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer Apprentice who has a natural curiosity into how things work and how they are manufactured. Using a mix of craftsmanship and the very latest manufacturing principles, in-house 3D printing capabilities, cutting and laminating they develop robust automotive leather interiors.

Responsibilities

What will the apprentice be doing?

You will be trained to bring in new product lines, develop the manufacturing processes and continuously improve the processes. And you will be paid a generous salary. As a Manufacturing Engineer Apprentice at I M Kelly Automotive, you will learn a wide variety of specific and transferable skills related to the automotive and manufacturing industry. You will learn all about: CAD which is the use computer aided design to design simple 2D drawings to then use computer aided manufacture through the use of a laser cutter. This company use ROBOTS so you will be taught how to program robots using joypad controls and touch screen. You will be trained on the production line and you will learn to find new ways about how the business can improve. All the skills you learn will help you plan, implement, and optimise the manufacturing processes in a fast-paced working environment. There may also be additional training and courses that you could go on which will be financed by the employer.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

Progression to HND and/or Manufacturing Engineer on successful completion of your apprenticeship.
