Job Description

Lake Chemicals are looking for a Manufacturing Apprentice to work in their chemical manufacturing and warehousing facility. The environment is fast paced and strictly managed against a number of standards.


Duties include:

  • Carry out cleaning activities to maintain a high standard of food hygiene
  • Assisting the Process Lead in the manufacture of food and chemical materials
  • Accurately complete processing records and other supporting documentation 
  • Receipting goods, recording the product, batch and quantity with accuracy. Identify and report damages 
  • Printing off labels, creating or amending labels as per instruction, accurately applying information as required 
  • Applying labels to packaging with care and attention 
  • Adhering to all Labelling Instructions to carry out the task correctly and to customer requirement
  • Safe re-packing and labelling of chemical products
  • Banding and hand wrapping pallets
  • Adhering to all works instructions, COSHH assessments and Safety Data sheets to carry out the task correctly and to customer requirement
  • Adhering to all work instructions provided
  • Ensure correct handling
  • Safe use and application of PPE
  • Monitoring, recording and maintenance of PPE
  • Understanding COSHH and SDS assessments for first aid and PPE requirements
  • Source appropriate and cost-effective PPE
  • Monitoring equipment and appliances
  • Ensuring all documentation is completed correctly and filed.
  • Relevant H&S training
  • Ensure all BreatheHR training actions are completed

Future Prospects

Following the successful completion of the apprenticeship with your employer and HoW College there is a potential for further training to be provided as well as a full time position within the company following successful performance reviews.
