What will the apprentice be doing?
York House has been creating the finest quality meat products since 1970. Their product ranges are vast, encompassing pork, bacon, ham, ribs, lamb, beef, sausages, meatballs, salt beef, sliced meats, diced meats and meat ingredients. They offer raw and cooked meats, supplied chilled or frozen, and prepared to the specifications of customers in the manufacturing, service and retail sectors. York House has also collected a number of awards over the years, including plenty of BPEX Gold and Silver medals for their meat quality. During the role, your main focus will be to ensure that all manufacturing equipment and machinery within the plant are maintained. This could include electrical fault finding and repairs or completing planned maintenance tasks through a PPM software. You will also be working on the lubrication of assets and the fabrication of equipment. The role will include welding elements, which you will learn about through training provided and your training at college.What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

This is a food manufacturing plant and the shop floor areas are chilled, you are also surrounded by raw meat so the candidates must feel comfortable in working in such an environment.
