Responsibilities
- Assist with routine and non-routine maintenance activities in accordance with approved processes and procedures.
- Assist with the investigation of plant problems and identify solutions.
- Assist with the preparation and presentation of technical reports.
- Assist with maintaining work and activity records.
- Assist with carrying out continuous plant condition monitoring routines.
- Assist with ensuring effective planning is in place with adequate and competent resources available.
- Ensure that safe working practices and procedures are adhered to in line with the SHE Management System.
Future Prospects
There may be opportunity for a full-time role on completion of the apprentice if the position arises.
Reality Check
Work within the maintenance team to develop into a multi-skilled technician but specialising as a mechanical fitter to carry out routine and non-routine, planned and unplanned maintenance to a high standard for a 24/7 power station. The biomass power station burns a blend of chicken litter and waste wood to produce electricity for the national grid.
Skills Required

Qualifications Required
GCSE grades A*-C or 9-4 / or equivalent in maths, English and science.
Training Provided
Maintenance and Operations Engineering Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship.
