Machine forgings and tooling to specified drawings across both manual and CNC machining centres. The parts machined feed both the commercial and aerospace markets.

Responsibilities

Main Purpose of Job:

Machine forgings and tooling to specified drawings across both manual and CNC machining centres. The parts machined feed both the commercial and aerospace markets.

Key Tasks and Accountabilities:

  • Read and understand drawings
  • Use measuring equipment (Micrometers, Vernier, Wall Thickness Meter, Surface Roughness gauge)
  • Document results and dimension reports both manually and electronically
  • Carry out maintenance and crane checks
  • Machine parts to drawing and record results both manually and electronically
  • Housekeeping (5s duties)
  • H&S – Work in a safe and responsible manner. (For own and other peoples safety)
  • To work as part of a team
  • Machine setting
  • Material Movements
  • Good communication skills
  • Problem solving skills / techniques
  • Any other adhoc duties as required

Knowledge

  • Apprentice trained – Mechanical Manufacturing or equivalent
  • Forklift License to RTITB/ITSSAR or any other national accredited qualification– Advantage
  • Overhead Crane/Lifting Certification – Advantage

Aptitudes Required

  • Machining working under +/-.025
  • Manual Milling/Turning Experience
  • CNC Milling/Turning Experience
  • Understanding of Siemens and Fanuc CNC Controls
  • Good communication skills
  • Part programming an advantage
