Responsibilities
BMW offers an enhanced Level 3 apprenticeship in comparison to others in industry. The four year programme is designed to enable you to experience different aspects of Engineering and production technology including: hand-skills, machining, fluid power, electronics, welding, robotics, control systems and many more.
You will develop specialist technical knowledge in Engineering Operations before progressing to a competency based qualification in Engineering, supported by a Level 3 National Certificate in Engineering.
The first year of the program is purely in a learning environment where in addition to starting the academic requirements of your program in engineering mechatronic based BTEC NC, you will undertake a practical based engineering program which covers core engineering skills such as milling and turning, hand skills, electrical and electronic circuits and control and fluid power, PLC’s etc.
In the following years you will undertake competency based training while working in a rotation with our maintenance teams around the site and complete the academic engineering course you have started. Additionally, subject to your performance and progression you could have the potential to move onto a foundation degree L5 in engineering.
Our mentors are always available to provide individual support and guidance, enabling you to customise training to suit your skills.

You must also be able to provide proof of your legal right to work in the UK, if you are not a UK or European passport holder.

A competitive salary enhanced annually depending on individual progress and performance starting at circa £14,333 per annum rising to over £27,000 at the end of the programme.

Qualifications Required
A minimum of 5 GCSE’s (or equivalent) at higher grade C or grade 5 (or above) including Maths and English.
