Job Description

Would you like to join a team of administrators and support staff working in a GP surgery whilst completing your Business Administrator Apprenticeship? Join a team that provides our patients with comprehensive healthcare services of the highest quality in the Bridgwater area.


What will the apprentice be doing?

  • Preparing letters, memos, emails and reports
  • Arranging patient appointments
  • Taking minutes of practice meetings
  • Managing files and practice records
  • Undertaking administrative procedures to register new patients
  • Undertaking administrative procedures to deduct patients and process patient clinical notes
  • File patient notes
  • Update patient records
  • NHS Quality framework related tasks – including contact with patients offering reviews and support
  • Undertake administrative support in contacting patients relating to our minor operations service
  • Filing of lab reports
  • General administration support to the management/administrative team of the practice

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

  • Level 3 Business Administrator Standard
  • Functional Skills Level 2 in English and maths if required
  • End Point Assessment: Knowledge Test; Professional Discussion; Presentation/Q&A
