What will the apprentice be doing?
Under the guidance of teachers, the apprentice will be involved in working with children to support the education, personal and social development of pupils and establishing positive relationships to assist in structured learning activities. Duties may include, supporting in learning activities, producing learning resources and assisting in the development of skills that support pupils' learning. The apprentice will assist in pupil supervision and pupil progress and development.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
As part of this role the successful candidate will be expected to work towards completing the apprenticeship framework, Teaching Assistant Level 3. The apprentice will be supported with internal on–the–job training. The successful candidate will also be required to complete functional skills initial assessments in Maths, English and ICT. Maths, English and ICT functional skills must be completed as part of the apprenticeship, if GCSE C/4 has not previously been achieved.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
There is no guarantee of a role at the end of this appreticeship, but support will be given.
