Responsibilities
What will the apprentice be doing?
On a daily basis you will be supporting our customers to fulfil their potential and helping them to achieve maximum independence both within home and out in the community , whilst at the same time taking account of their emotional, psychological and physical needs, including having fun. You will develop skills in relation to assessment and support planing, key foundations to a career in care.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
The apprentice will have access to a range of learning opportunities, including face to face learning, e-learning and monthly tutorials which will help to achieve the full Level 2 Adult Care Worker Apprenticeship. The Care Certificate is achieved as part of this apprenticeship.
The apprentice will be assigned an assessor who will support them throughout the apprenticeship, assess their work and practice.
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
At Central Bedfordshire Council we hope to retain our apprentices. Towards the end of your programme you’ll be supported to apply for vacant positions. Should you wish to move onto new or higher qualifications, we’ll also help you to do so.
